As a Human Resources Generalist at Cambrian Homecare LLC, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our HR department while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. Based at our corporate office in Long Beach, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple departments, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to a positive workplace culture where your skills and knowledge truly make a difference.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and HR related concerns
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and assist in resolving workplace issues professionally and consistently
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, including was and hour laws, leave management (FMLA/CFRA), and California labor code requirements
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation
  • Assist with policy interpretation and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR practices
  • Maintain recruitment and onboarding records in compliance with company standards and legal requirements

 

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in partnership with Corporate HR
  • Assist employees with benefit questions and issue resolution
  • Administer leave of absence requests (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA) and coordinate return-to-work documentation

 

Payroll & HRIS Support

  • Support payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data changes, timekeeping approvals, and wage adjustments
  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and generate standard reports as needed
  • Assist with Audits of personnel, payroll, and I-9 files for compliance and accuracy

 

Training & Engagement

  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate training sessions and track completion of required HR and compliance training
  • Assist with performance review tracking and performance improvement plans as needed

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferable in a healthcare, homecare, or service-based environment
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience or familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom, ADP, Paylocity, or similar) preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
